About The Practitioner
I am a licensed acupuncturist in New York State and certified by National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I’ve been treating people for more than 11 years. In 1998 I graduated from LaGuardia Community College with degree in physical therapy.
I started by working in outpatient physical therapy clinics providing post surgical rehabilitation and treating orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions including chronic pain and stroke.
Some conditions respond well to physical therapy, but many do not. Physical therapy works well with acute pain/post-surgical recovery. However, my experience is that it can do very little for chronic pain. After three years of working and dealing with those conditions I realized there must be alternatives to effectively relieve chronic pain. That’s what led me to become an acupuncturist.
I first heard of acupuncture from my friend who saw tremendous results with treatment of his chronic problems. Hearing his story caught my interest and after deliberate research I decided to learn this wonderful therapy. After graduation from Tri-State College of Acupuncture in 2004 I have continued to work in a rehabilitation clinic combining acupuncture and physical therapy. The results I see are incredible. Acupuncture is not just masking the symptoms like physical therapy modalities and medications, but accesses the body’s inner ability to heal itself. It is a perfect combination - acupuncture, manual therapy and therapeutic exercises.
Three years ago I incorporated the Balance Method of acupuncture into my practice. The Balance Method is amazing at targeting musculoskeletal pain that has no apparent cause, and would otherwise persist for years. It is also extremely effective in treatment of other health problems and disorders: gynecological, gastrointestinal/digestive , respiratory … you name it.
I started specializing in fertility because I don’t have biological children of my own. My wife and I adopted our daughter in 2003. I’m glad it worked out that way - she’s a blessing. However, I know what it’s like to try for years to have children. Acupuncture is amazingly effective in helping with pregnancy and “making babies”.
To this day I am still amazed by power of those tiny needles to heal.
